KGS Custom Building LLC

Custom systems,
fitted by hand —
Built to last.

KGS Custom Building LLC is a small computer systems design and building practice working from a joinery-minded workshop at 1171 S 4425 W, Cedar City - 84720-6254, United States (US). Every rack, cabinet, enclosure and finished surface leaves the bench fitted by hand, measured twice and scribed once. We build integrated systems for studios, offices and industrial floors that must look deliberate years after the last screw is driven. See how we work

Six benches, six kinds of built-to-last work

Below are the six fit-out services KGS Custom Building LLC runs from its Cedar City shop. Each one is drawn up on the bench wall before a single panel is cut, and each one is finished to the same standard: hand-fitted, square, and honest about what it holds.

Custom Integration Racks

Hand-fitted integration racks gather servers, network gear, patch panels and power in one square, serviceable frame. We cut the rail slots to the depth your hardware actually needs, then hand-dress the cable runs so the back of the rack reads as neatly as the front. Every rack is scribed to the floor it stands on, not ordered from a catalogue width and hoped over.

Job E

Tailored Control Cabinets

Tailored control cabinets house the switches, drivers, relays and terminals that keep a system breathing. We lay out each cabinet on the bench, mount DIN rail by hand, and label every conductor in plain language. Because the cabinet is cut for the equipment inside it, there is no wasted void and no rat nest waiting to happen.

Job G

Bespoke Machine Enclosures

Bespoke machine enclosures wrap a working machine in a case that fits its quirks. We take the real dimensions at the machine, allow for vibration, service access and airflow, and build the enclosure so a technician can reach every fastener without dismantling the whole shell. The result protects the machine without hiding it from the people who maintain it.

Job J

Installation Woodwork

Installation woodwork is the finished surface between the system and the room: capping, fascias, mounting plinths, cable chases and fitted trim that turn a technical install into architecture. We match the grain, scribe to the wall, and set the joints tight, so the woodwork reads as though it grew in place rather than arrived in a box.

Job K

Site Survey and Fit Planning

Site survey and fit planning begin before any material is bought. We walk the space, note the obstructions, measure the clearances and record the service routes, then hand you a plan that says exactly what will be built and where. It is the difference between a fit-out that surprises you and one you have already seen on paper.

Job M

Finish and Hardware Packages

Finish and hardware packages are the last ten percent that most installers skip. We hang the doors so they swing true, set the catches, fit the brass and iron hardware, and finish every exposed edge by hand. A system that opens, closes and wears well is a system that lasts, which is the whole point.

KGS Custom Building LLC opens its winter fit-out window for studios, offices and industrial floors across Cedar City and the surrounding valleys, booking bench time for racks, cabinets, enclosures and finished woodwork.

Why the bench matters

Computer systems design, held to a joinery standard

Measured twice, scribed once

Our trade sits inside Computer Systems Design and Related Services, and it shares a bench with a much older trade. We measure the room and the machine before we measure the panel, then scribe the cut line by hand. Nothing is cut from a guess and nothing is ordered to a nominal size and forced to fit. When a rack must sit against an old wall that is out of square, we fit it to that wall, not to the drawing.

Square, serviceable, quiet

A finished installation should open cleanly, close firmly and stay quiet for years. We build for the technician who arrives in five years with a flashlight, which means clear access, honest labels and hardware chosen to wear rather than to gleam. The services page sets out how each of the six disciplines is drawn, built and finished from the same set of bench habits.

From survey to final rub-down

How a KGS fit-out comes together

Every project, whether it is a single enclosure or a full studio refit, moves through the same four bench stages. There are no shortcuts between them, because a shortcut at any stage shows up years later in a door that will not shut or a rack that will not slide.

1

Survey and measure

We visit the space, record every obstruction and clearance, and photograph the service routes. Nothing is designed until the room has been read properly.

2

Draw and chalk

Each unit is drawn full size and chalked onto the bench wall. You see the plan, the joints and the hardware schedule before any material is cut.

3

Cut, fit and assemble

Panels are cut to the scribed lines and assembled by hand, dry-fitted first, then joined for good. Racks, cabinets and enclosures come off the bench square.

4

Install, finish and hand over

We install on site, fit the trim and hardware, finish every edge, then walk you through the finished work and its service notes.

Bring the bench your next fit-out

If your studio, office or industrial floor needs racks, cabinets, enclosures or finish woodwork that fit the way they should, KGS Custom Building LLC would like to hear about it. Send the room, the machine or the rough idea, and we will tell you plainly what can be built and how it will be finished.
